Luxus Blumen grows its roses in Pedro Moncayo, a canton in the province of Pichincha, north of Quito. At 2,800 MASL and close to the equator, the area combines a set of natural conditions that few growing regions in the world can offer, and that are reflected in the quality of every stem we export.
Altitude and a steady growth cycle
At high altitude, plants develop at a slower pace than in lowland regions. This longer growth cycle allows the rose to build longer, straighter stems, larger heads and more petals per bloom. The result is a flower with greater presence in the vase and a longer post-harvest life.
Warm days and cool nights
The Andean climate of Pedro Moncayo brings mild, sunny days followed by cool nights. This daily temperature contrast helps the plant concentrate pigments, which gives our varieties intense, well-defined colors, and supports firm heads that hold their shape during transport.
Equatorial light all year round
Being close to the equator means around twelve hours of daylight every day of the year, with high light intensity. Stable light conditions allow continuous production across seasons, so our clients can plan standing orders with consistent volumes and quality throughout the year.
Controlled growing, responsible practices
These natural advantages are complemented by our 25 hectares of greenhouses, technical supervision at every stage and Florverde-certified practices. Together, they allow us to manage water, soil and inputs responsibly while maintaining a uniform standard across Roses, Spray Roses and Alstroemerias.
Close to international markets
Pedro Moncayo is within easy reach of Quito International Airport, which keeps transit times short between harvest and shipment. Our flowers reach clients in Russia, Europe and the United States with the cold chain maintained from the farm to the airport.
